Autism Diagnostic Services

The Lauriston Centre provides comprehensive autism diagnostic assessments for children and adults across the UK.

Our assessments are designed to develop a clear understanding of each individual’s developmental history, communication, social interaction, behaviour, sensory profile and day-to-day needs.

Depending on age and individual circumstances, the assessment may include:

• A detailed developmental and clinical history.

• Standardised autism assessment, including the ADOS-2 where appropriate.

• Parent, caregiver or individual interviews.

• Questionnaires and information from school, family members or other professionals where relevant.

• Consideration of developmental, behavioural and sensory differences.

• A comprehensive written diagnostic report.

• Recommendations for appropriate support at home, in education or in other settings.

Where an autism diagnosis is made, the aim is not simply to provide a diagnostic label, but to help the individual and their family better understand their profile, strengths, differences and support needs.
